Storm Lake High School to Host District Speech Competition

Storm Lake High School will host the Large Group District Speech Competition 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 24. This marks the first time in several years that the event has been held in Storm Lake.

More than 20 Iowa high schools are expected to bring students to SLHS for a full day of theatrical performances, ranging from ensemble acting to musical theatre. The competition serves as the opening round of the statewide speech season.

Admission is a suggested $5 donation, with proceeds benefiting the Storm Lake Speech team and the Iowa High School Speech Association.

Community members interested in volunteering or seeking more information may contact Jarrod Roth (jroth@slcsd.org) or Leah Sotebeer (lsotebeer@slcsd.org).
