Storm Lake City Council Tables Housing Tax Incentives Resolution Due to Language Amendment

The Storm Lake City Council on Monday tabled a tax incentives application for a home developments project due to the language needing to be revised in the resolution.

Healthy Efficient Homes is submitting an application to the Iowa Economic Development Authority for the Workforce Housing Tax Incentive Program. The project is located at the Woodland Creek Subdivision.

Jim Johnson of Healthy Efficient Homes said due to more interest, they would like to increase the number of homes to 11…(audio clip below)

Johnson asked if it would be possible to adjust the language at that time, but City Attorney Phil Havens recommended the resolution be amended to match the number of homes.

Johnson said the IEDA application isn’t due until July 1st, so Mayor Mike Porsch felt it would be best to write up the resolution correctly and revisit the matter at the next council meeting in two weeks.
