Star Spangled Spectacular Opens Nominations for 2026 Grand Marshal

Storm Lake’s Star Spangled Spectacular is now taking nominations for the Grand Marshal to lead this Fourth of July’s Big Parade.

Organizers announced yesterday (Tuesday) that the committee is seeking community members who embody volunteerism, leadership, and a commitment to strengthening the Storm Lake area.

Nominees should have a demonstrated record of service—whether through volunteer work, leadership in local programs, or efforts that go above and beyond to support neighbors and improve quality of life. There is no age requirement, and the committee says it welcomes nominations for anyone who has made a meaningful, positive impact on the Storm Lake region.

This year’s Star Spangled Spectacular commodores, Tyler and Deidre Aube, will review the submissions and announce the 2026 Grand Marshal by June 1.

Nomination forms are available at the Storm Lake United office and can also be downloaded at starspangledspectacular.net. Completed forms are due by May 1. They can be returned in person to the Storm Lake United office at 119 West 6th St., mailed in, or emailed to stormlakestarspangled@gmail.com.
