SLFD Inspector Joins Statewide Safety Coalition

Storm Lake Fire Department Inspector Blake Severson has been named to the Iowa State Fire Marshal’s statewide Community Risk Reduction Coalition.

The group brings together fire service professionals from across Iowa to improve public safety by identifying local fire risks and coordinating efforts to reduce them. The coalition emphasizes data sharing, resource coordination, and best practices to enhance fire prevention statewide.

Severson’s appointment highlights Storm Lake’s commitment to proactive fire safety and strengthens its connection to broader state-level initiatives aimed at protecting communities, says Severson.

He encourages anyone who has questions about fire prevention to reach out to him by stopping by or calling the fire station at 732-8010.
