Senator Chuck Grassley has announced that the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) will provide a $355,000 grant to the City of Sioux Rapids to replace the city’s old well, which was decommissioned after a flood. The grant comes from the Emergency Community Water Assistance Grants program. The Rural Development investment will be used to provide additional funding to improve the water system. The project involves digging a new well in an existing well field to replace the one that had to be decommissioned after a flood. Once completed, this project will help provide safe, reliable drinking water for residents and visitors to the Sioux Rapids community.
