A portion of Highway 18 will soon be closed for railroad crossing repairs.
According to the Iowa DOT, Highway 18 east of Ruthven will be closed beginning the morning of Monday, June 16th until Friday, June 27th, weather permitting, due to Canadian Pacific Kansas City railroad crossing repairs.
During the closure, a marked detour route will take drivers north on Palo Alto County Road N-18 at the intersection at the Highway 18 intersection. When drivers reach the intersection with Palo Alto County Road B-25, they will travel east to N-26, then turn north until reaching B-14, then travel east to Highway 4 and go south until reaching Highway 18.
