Sand Visits BV County

Iowa State Auditor Rob Sand held a town hall meeting in Buena Vista County yesterday (Wednesday) to speak with locals ahead of the upcoming election for Iowa’s next governor.

Dozens of Buena Vista County residents were in attendance for Sand’s visit to the County seat. Sand answered questions from the audience about his stances on issues facing the state of Iowa.

Those in attendance questioned education in the state and the state’s new voucher program. Sand feels most of the money in the education program is being used to pay for private school tuition; and tax dollars shouldn’t be used to pay people to do the things they were going to do anyway.

Sand also spoke on Senate File 478, which he says restricted the authority of the Iowa State Auditor to do their job. He says that if elected, he’d work to change that policy.

After his town hall in Buena Vista County yesterday (Wednesday), Sand also visited Pocahontas and Palo Alto County.
