Sac County Group Awards More Than $3,500 to Senior Nutrition Agency

100 People Who Care Sac County has awarded more than $3,500 to the Sixty Plus Nutrition Agency, which provides meals to senior citizens in four Sac County communities.

The organization selected the agency as its latest donation recipient during a meeting Sunday, Oct. 11.

100 People Who Care Sac County brings members together to support charities and nonprofit organizations serving the county. Members nominate potential recipients, and three nominees are selected at random to present to the group. Members then vote, with the organization receiving the most votes receiving the collective donations.

Each member commits to participating for at least one year and contributes $100 at each of the group’s four annual meetings. Members may participate individually or as teams, with one vote for every $100 contributed.

Previous recipients have included local fire departments, libraries, ambulance services, food pantries, youth programs and other community organizations. The Sixty Plus Nutrition Agency has also received a donation from the group in the past.

The organization’s next meeting is scheduled for 4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 10, 2027, at Early United Methodist Church, located at 402 Hickory St. The public is welcome to attend and learn more about the group.
