Cherokee Community School District Superintendent Tom Ryherd is resigning his position.
Ryherd was named superintendent of the Perry Community School District last week, according to the Perry News. Perry School Board President Linda Andorf says Ryherd shows “ability in a variety of assignments,” including teaching in diverse communities, as a coach, principal and superintendent.
Last year, Ryherd was a finalist to be the next superintendent at Pocahontas Area Community School District.
The Alta native landed the superintendent position in Cherokee schools in 2023.
