A local philanthropic group will decide where to direct its next round of donations during an October meeting in Early.
The fourth 2026 meeting of 100 People Who Care Sac County is scheduled for 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 11, at the United Methodist Church in Early, located at 402 Hickory St.
The organization, which launched in 2016, brings Sac County residents together to support local nonprofit organizations and charitable causes.
During each quarterly meeting, members nominate potential recipients, with three organizations selected to make presentations to the group. Members then vote on the organizations, with the group receiving the most votes awarded the donations.
The three organizations scheduled to present at the Oct. 11 meeting are Sixty Plus Nutrition Agency, the Sac City Bark Park and the Sac County Trails Committee.
Members commit to participating for one year and make $100 donations to the organization selected at each quarterly meeting. Individuals can participate on their own or as part of a team, with one vote provided for each $100 donation.
Meetings are held on the second Sunday of January, April, July and October.
Previous recipients have included fire departments, libraries, ambulance services, food programs, community organizations and other nonprofits throughout Sac County. Past recipients include the Early Fire Department, East Sac County Food Pantry, Grant Park Trail, Lake View Ambulance, Sac County Fair Board, Sac County Quilters/Quilts of Valor, Sixty Plus Nutrition Agency and the Wheatland Foundation.
All Sac County residents are welcome to attend the Oct. 11 meeting and learn more about 100 People Who Care Sac County.
