The Pocahontas County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a report of shots fired in Fonda.
According to a press release, a report was received shortly before 10pm last (Sun) night of shots fired in the area of Franklin and 5th Streets in Fonda. The caller also stated that they could hear a female yelling for help. Responding deputies determined that the gunshots came from the 400 block of Franklin Street.
No injuries were reported. Law enforcement was able to identify a male suspect who was allegedly responsible for the gunshots. Criminal charges are pending.
The investigation is ongoing. The Buena Vista County Sheriff’s Office and the Iowa State Patrol assisted at the scene.
