Several thousand dollars of damage occurred when a moving vehicle went out of control and struck multiple vehicles that were parked in a Storm Lake car dealership lot.
According to the Storm Lake Police Department, the incident occurred shortly before 4pm last Friday in the 16 hundred block of North Lake Avenue. A vehicle driven by Paulo Comparan Silva of Storm Lake was traveling northbound on Lake Avenue. Comparan Silva lost control of the vehicle, left the roadway, and struck a fire hydrant and five parked/unoccupied vehicles owned by Holzhauer Ford.
Comparan Silva was issued a citation for Failure to Maintain Control of a Motor Vehicle. One injury was reported. Damages are estimated at 200 thousand dollars.
