The Storm Lake Community School District has named Lindsay DeHaan as the next assistant principal at the Storm Lake Middle School.
DeHaan currently serves as student services director at the middle school, and has been serving middle school students for the last 19 years. The local school board will vote to approve her appointment at its meeting scheduled this Wednesday. If approved, DeHaan would officially begin her new role this fall. She will take over for Jaymie Bral, who is retiring at the end of this academic year.
DeHaan has served as a 5th and 6th grade language arts teacher at both the Ridge View School District and Storm Lake Community School District, as well as an instructional coach at Storm Lake Middle School. She transitioned to her current role in 2023.
“We are thrilled to announce that Lindsay DeHaan will serve as our next assistant principal at
SLMS,” said Dr. Stacey Cole, Superintendent. “Mrs. DeHaan is an incredibly talented and
dedicated educator who has served in our district for many years. Her leadership experience
and dedication to student success make her a great fit to help lead our students and staff. We
also extend our gratitude to Mr. Jaymie Bral for his years of service and commitment to our
district.”
“I am truly honored to serve in this new role and excited to continue working with the incredible
students and staff at Storm Lake Middle School,” said DeHaan. “My family and I are proud to be
part of a community that is so supportive and dedicated to the success of its students. I look
forward to working alongside the talented educators and administrators who share my passion
for making a positive impact in the lives of our young people.”
