A Storm Lake man was arrested on multiple charges following a single-vehicle accident early this (Fri) morning.
According to the Storm Lake Police Department, officers were called to the area of West 4th Street and Grand Avenue at approximately 2am today. Police discovered a 2008 Red Toyota off the roadway in the 500 block of Grand Avenue which had struck a tree head on. The driver, 34-year-old Nelson Naich, was passed out in the driver’s seat. Naich allegedly showed signs of alcohol impairment, and open containers of alcohol were found inside the vehicle.
Naich was charged with Operating While Intoxicated 3rd Offense, a class D felony…as well as simple misdemeanor charges of Open Container of Alcohol, Operating Without A Valid Drivers License, and Failure to Maintain Control of a Motor Vehicle. He was booked into the Buena Vista County Jail on a five thousand dollar bond.
