Kingsley Man Sentenced on Federal Firearms Charge

A Kingsley man has been sentenced to more than two years in jail on a federal firearms charge.

35-year-old Levi Dimmitt was sentenced this past Thursday after pleading guilty this past December to being a prohibited person in possession of multiple firearms.

According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, On April 24th of last year, law enforcement executed a search warrant at a residence owned by Dimmitt in Sibley. The search resulted in authorities finding drug paraphernalia, marijuana, methamphetamine, and guns. Upon being arrested, Dimmitt ran a short distance before being apprehended.

Dimmitt is being held in the custody of a U.S. Marshal awaiting transportation to a federal prison.
