Daily rates will be the same for the third year in a row at Storm Lake’s Sunrise Campground.

As was previously reported, some new rules will be going into effect this year. In prior years, checking in and checking out of the campground has at times created overlaps of new campers coming in when departing campers have not yet left. According to a City of Storm Lake news release, with a check out time of 1pm and a check in time of 3pm, there is limited time to perform maintenance tasks to transition between guests. Tasks such as mowing, trash removal, general site preparation, and at times picking up after family pets are necessary duties to ensure each guest at the campground has an enjoyable experience. Much of this work must be completed between 11am and 2pm.
Fees have been established for early check ins and late check outs. Early check in prior to noon will cost 20 dollars. Early check in after noon and prior to 3pm will cost ten dollars. Late check out after 1pm will cost ten dollars per hour.
The opening day of the 2024 Sunrise Campground season is April 15th.
