Clay County Fair Queen Contest Happening in June

Ten young ladies will compete for the title of Clay County Fair Queen next month.

Contestants include Nevaeh Brauhn of Sioux Rapids, daughter of Steve and Rish Brauhn…Jasmyn Christensen of Spencer, daughter of Clayton Christensen…Abbey Crew of Spencer, daughter of Peter and Andrea Crew…Lilly Jepsen of Spencer, daughter of Jacque Jepsen-Bakke and Chris Bakke…Dakoda Lux of Everly, daughter of David and Kori Lux…Ava McCarty of Peterson, daughter of Chad and Kaarn McCarty…Maggie Moser of Spencer, daughter of Jason and Melissa Moser…Sarah Phillips of Linn Grove, daughter of Ryan and Laurie Phillips…Hannah Tessum of Everly, daughter of Tyler and Ashley Tessum…and Emmalee Thompson of Linn Grove, daughter of Peter and Rachel Thompson.

The event will be held on Sunday, June 8th at the Clay County Regional Events Center. The candidates will participate in individual interviews, workshops, and the Queen Pageant. The pageant begins at 7pm. Doors open to the public at 6:30pm.

The Clay County Fair Queen will represent the Fair at area parades and celebrations throughout the summer, compete in the Iowa State Queen Contest, and participate in the 2025 Clay County Fair in September.

Candidates will be judged on personality, attitude and awareness, leadership and citizenship, contribution to their community, overall appearance, charm, poise, and self-expression.
