Cherokee Man Arrested on BV County Drug Warrants

A Cherokee man wanted in Buena Vista County was taken into custody last Monday evening.

Thirty-eight-year-old Anthony Smith was arrested by the O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office on warrants for possession of methamphetamine—third offense, a Class D Felony—and possession of drug paraphernalia. The charges stem from a 2023 theft investigation at Storm Lake Walmart, where police later found methamphetamine during a vehicle search.

Smith remains in the O’Brien County Jail in Primghar awaiting extradition.
