The Buena Vista County Board of Supervisors this (Tues) morning narrowly approved a resolution setting speed limits on a portion of 70th Avenue near the Platinum Crush plant.
There will be a 35 miles-per-hour speed limit on 70th Avenue from Highway 7 to 600th Street, and 45 miles-per-hour from 600th Street to County Road C-63.
The section of 70th Avenue has been paved due to semi truck traffic going to and from Platinum Crush, but Supervisor Kathy Croker feels 70th Avenue will now be heavily used by general traffic…
The speed limit resolution was approved on a 3-2 vote. Supervisors Dan Hartman, Rhonda Ringgenberg, and Kelly Snyder voted in favor, while Supervisors Croker and Paul Merten were opposed.
