The Iowa Pork Producers Association has named its 2025 Master Pork Producers. Among the honorees: Brad and Sarah Lundell of Kiron, recognized for excellence in pork production, sustainability, and community leadership.
The Lundells were celebrated at the Iowa Pork Congress banquet in Des Moines last week. The program, now in its 84th year, has honored more than 1,500 Iowa pig farming businesses since 1942.
Brad Lundell says the award reflects a lifetime of family commitment to livestock and land stewardship.
The Lundells live six miles southwest of Odebolt — a central location for the many farms that make up their operation. From that hub, they manage hog barns, row crops, and even a turkey farm for a local integrator. Brad says diversification has been key to their growth.
Sustainability is central to their approach. Manure from the hog barns is injected back into the soil to fertilize crops, which in turn feed the animals.
The Lundells also give back locally — donating pork to youth sports and grilling pork burgers and pork chops for students each year. Brad says those efforts, along with a focus on animal care, helped earn the Master Pork Producer honor.
For Brad and Sarah, the recognition is humbling.
Looking ahead, Brad says the award inspires his family to keep improving and to carry their legacy forward.
Brad and Sarah Lundell join six other Iowa families named 2025 Master Pork Producers. The Iowa Pork Producers Association says the awards highlight not only safe, high‑quality food production, but also the dedication of farm families to their communities.
