September 26 @ 5:00pm
Witter Gallery is buzzing with excitement as it announces the Witter Gallery Art-Bee-Que Cook Off, a unique community fundraiser celebrating great food, local art, live entertainment, and the power of the arts. The event will take place on Saturday, September 26, beginning at 5:00 pm at the Chautauqua Shelter House in Storm Lake. Tickets are $30 per person and are limited.
This year’s cook-off challenge features a special twist: the secret ingredient is honey supplied by Harley’s Honey of Storm Lake. Cooks are encouraged to incorporate honey in their own creative way, showcasing unique flavors. If a chef is interested in competing, they can register by visiting Witter Gallery on Facebook or contacting Patricia Hampton at 712-732-9272 or Julie Steinfeld at 712-299-3216 to sign up.
Attendees will have the opportunity to sample all cook-off entries and cast their votes for their favorite flavors. Unlike traditional competitions, the judges are the audience, making the Witter Gallery Art-Bee-Que Cook Off a true People’s Choice event. Taste testing begins at 5:30pm, with guests voting for their top selections. Awards and prizes will be presented to the first-, second-, and third-place winners during a special ceremony at 7:00pm.
In addition to delicious food, guests will enjoy live entertainment from local performers throughout the evening. Local artists will also create original works of art live during the event. Then the final art pieces, along with other donated artwork, will be featured in a live auction benefiting Witter Gallery’s programs and initiatives.
Proceeds from the fundraiser will directly support Witter Gallery’s annual operating expenses, educational programming, exhibits, and community art projects.
