The theme for Storm Lake’s RAGBRAI overnight stop this summer will be revealed during an event next month.
Storm Lake United will be hosting a Business After Hours event on Tuesday, March 7th at 5pm at King’s Pointe Waterpark Resort. The public is invited to enjoy hors d’ oevres and a cash bar before a short presentation at 5:15pm that day to reveal the Storm Lake RAGBRAI theme and logo, which will be featured on merchandise, social media, and more. Storm Lake’s RAGBRAI store will launch T-shirt sales, and more gear will also be made available. Information on volunteering and fundraising will also be shared at the event on March 7th.
Storm Lake will be the first overnight stop for the 50th anniversary of RAGBRAI on Sunday, July 23rd. The main theme for this year’s bike ride, which happens from July 22nd through the 29th, is “One L of a Ride”, as “L” stands for 50 in roman numerals. Approximately 20-thousand bike riders are expected.
The Storm Lake RAGBRAI committee is currently working on housing opportunities, fundraising, a website, merchandise, getting volunteers signed up, booking entertainment, and more. Questions can be sent to ragbraistormlake@gmail.com.
