Iowa DOT Taking Public Input on Proposed Cherokee County Bridge Project

The Iowa Department of Transportation is seeking public input for a proposed bridge replacement in Cherokee County.

The project would be on the bridge on Iowa Highway 31 over Silver Creek, one mile west of U.S. Highway 59. The existing 150 by 26 foot steel beam bridge would be replaced with a 172 by two by 40 foot concrete beam bridge. New bridge approaches would be constructed, and the existing guardrail would be replaced.

Traffic on Highway 31 would be detoured using Highway 59 and Cherokee County Road C-66. To leave feedback on the bridge replacement project, click here. Comments must be received by April 3rd to be considered.
