Wild Souls Camp ~ Ponds & Wetlands

May 31 @ 1:00pm - 3:00pm

The Buena Vista County Conservation and Clay County Conservation Boards have partnered up to present Wild Souls Camp. Wild Souls Camp is for anyone over the age of eighteen who wants to get outside and explore nature. Our first camp will be held on Friday, May 31st at Gabrielson Park, just south of Sioux Rapids on Highway 71, from 1:00 – 3:00 PM. The theme is ponds and wetlands. We will start off the afternoon frolicking in the pond, looking for all sorts of creatures from macro invertebrates to turtles and fish. We will provide nets and buckets, but please come prepared to get wet and muddy. After some good old-fashioned fun at the lake, we will venture up to the shelter house for desserts baked in a Dutch Oven, fish print crafting, games, and more! We will provide bandanas and/or tee-shirts for fish printing, as well as all the supplies needed. What do you need to bring? Clothes that can get dirty, water shoes or mud boots, sunscreen, bug spray, and a water bottle. We will provide the rest. Registration is required for this event as we have a limited space available. To register call the Buena Vista County Conservation Office at 712 -295-7985 by Wednesday, May 29th at 4:00 PM.
