In a battle of ranked teams the Cherokee girls defeated Storm Lake 48-45 Tuesday night in Cherokee. The Tornadoes held the lead at halftime 27-23 but scored only nine points in the first twelve minutes of the second half and fell behind 41-36 with four minutes to play in the game.
Mackenzie Harder scored a team high 13 points and Maddy Raveling chipped in with ten. Deidra Doeden scored a game high 14 points as Cherokee moves their record to 6-0. The Tornadoes are now 4-2 overall and 0-2 in the Lakes.
The Storm Lake boys defeated the Braves 73-62. Cam Boyd scored 19 of his game high 24 points in the first half. Jaidyn Coon added 17 points and Trey Boettcher made four 3-pointers in the 2nd half and scored 12 points. Storm Lake moves to 4-0 overall and 2-0 in the Lakes Conference.
