Storm Lake scored three runs in the bottom of the sixth inning on five hits and that was enough to give them a 4-3 win over visiting Sioux Central Thursday night in Storm Lake.
Sioux Central scored one run in the first and added two more in the 2nd to take a 3-0 lead into the bottom of the 4th inning. Maddy Raveling led off with a double and would later score on a Kennadie Miller single to make it 3-1. Raveling then doubled to lead off the 6th inning and that was followed by a single from Taylor Ripke. Miller would then put down a bunt single that scored Raveling to make it 3-2. Cole Richardson and Abby Bodholdt would later add RBI singles to cap the scoring.
In the top of the 7th inning the Rebels had the tying run on 2nd base with two outs but winning pitcher Avery DeHaan got Avery Wilson to pop up for the final out.
DeHaan went the distance picking up her 9th win, she allowed three runs on eight hits and struck out three. The Tornadoes had nine hits with Raveling, Miller, and Lillie Hoffman all getting two a piece.
The Rebels had eight hits with Bradi Krager getting three and she drove in two runs. Krager suffered the loss in the circle. Sioux Central is now 12-4 and will host Pocahontas Area Friday night. Storm Lake is now 11-2 and will play at Spencer Friday night. The game will be broadcast on KAYL Mix 101.7 and video streamed at stormlakeradio.com
