In front of a packed Tornado Fieldhouse and on senior night the Storm Lake basketball teams picked up a pair of lopsided wins over the visiting Spencer Tigers.
The Tornado girls outscored Spencer 36-0 in the 2nd half in their 70-16 win. Avery DeHaan scored 23 points, Grace Kenkel had 13, and Adeeya Yanga added 12.

The Tornado boys made 11-of-14 shots in the 1st quarter building a 25-9 lead and they never looked back as they crushed Spencer 88-45. Cam Boyd scored 13 of his 17 points in that first quarter. Jaidyn Coon scored 23, Charlie Dvergsten, the lone senior on the team, made 5-of-6 from the arc for his 15 points and Tim Yanga added ten.
Storm Lake is now 15-1 and they finish the Lakes Conference with a perfect 8-0 record. Click below to hear from Dvergsten and coach Evan Franzmeier.
The Storm Lake boys play again Monday night at Sioux City-West. Both teams will then host Newell-Fonda Tuesday night.
