Spencer Football Team Gets Win Over Storm Lake

Kamden Young rushed for 155 yards and scored four touchdowns helping Spencer to a 42-7 win over Storm Lake Friday night at Tornado Field.

The Tigers built a 21-0 lead at the half as the Tornadoes turned the ball over three times. The Tigers scored touchdowns on their first three possessions of the 2nd half to break the game wide open. They ended up with 298 yards of offense for the game.

Storm Lake quarterback Cam Boyd threw a 26 yard touchdown pass to David William late in the 4th quarter to get the Tornadoes on the scoreboard. With the touchdown catch William set a new Storm Lake single season record for touchdown receptions with ten. Storm Lake had 190 yards of offense with Boyd going 12-for-26 through the air for 162 yards. He was intercepted twice.

Storm Lake had 11 penalties for more than 100 yards.

Spencer is now 3-5 overall and 2-2 in the district. Storm Lake falls to 2-6 on the year and 1-3 in district play. Storm Lake will finish the year next Friday at Le Mars. Click below to hear from Tornado head coach Drake Curry.
