Rebel softball rolls past the Panthers in five innings

The Sioux Central Rebels defeated the Storm Lake Saint Mary’s Panthers 14-0 in five innings of softball action

The Rebels would open up the game with a Bradi Krager triple. Krager would score when Morgan Christian grounded out to give the Rebels the 1-0 lead after the top of the first. Victori Meyer would sit the Panthers down in order in the first all via strikeout. The Rebels would tally three runs in the second inning highlighted by a Panther error, and hits by Kailee Laursen and Nora Christian. The Rebels would lead 4-0 after the top of the second. Avery Smith would lead off the second with a hit before the next three Panthers would go down in order. The Rebels would tally runs in each of the next three innings, scoring 2 in the 3rd, 4 in both the 4th and 5th. The Panthers would strand two runners over the final three innings as the Rebels would go on to win 14-0

Winning Pitcher: Victori Meyer (Rebels) 5 IP, 9K, 1BB, 2H, 0R; Losing Pitcher: Neely Bacon (Panthers) 5IP, 6K, 2BB, 10H, 14R

With the win, the Rebels improve to 14-5 and play host to Newell-Fonda Thursday night, and the loss drops the Panthers to 0-12 and they travel to play Manson Northwest Webster Friday night
