The Ridge View Raptor baseball team defeated the Treynor Cardinals 4-2 in the 2A District 15 Semi-Final
The Raptors and Cardinals would go scoreless through the first four innings. Over that span the Cardinals would strand 6 baserunners. The Raptors would strike first when Connor Jacobson drove in Kyle Burk to give the Raptors the 1-0 lead going to the bottom of the 5th. The Cardinals would use good plate discipline to tally two runs in the bottom of the 5th by collecting three walks and two hit by pitches to lead 2-1 after five complete. However the Raptors would have the answer after a walk, an error and a base hit loaded the bases Noah Struck would drive in two runs on a double followed by an RBI groundout by Kyle Burk. The Raptors would carry the 4-2 lead into the bottom of the sixth. The Cardinals would only draw two walks over the final two frames as the Raptors went on to win 4-2.
The win improves the Raptors to 16-9 and advances them to the 2A District 15 title at #3 Underwood (25-2) on Saturday (Played at Iowa Western Community College). The loss ends Treynor’s season at 15-9
