The OABCIG Falcon softball team fell to Eagle Grove 9-1 in Class 3A Region 4 action.
The Falcons would go down in order in the top of the first inning. In the bottom of the first the Eagles would send 11 batter to the plate and tally seven runs. The highlights in the first for the Eagles was a 2 RBI single from Olivia Conaway and a 3 RBI triple from Addyson Jeske. The Eagles would lead 7-0 after one. The Eagles would add a run in the second to lead 8-0. However, in the top of the fourth the Falcons would strike when Kendra Corbin drove in Kenai Nielsen to cut the lead to 8-1. That would be as close as the Falcons would get as Eagle Grove would tally two more runs to win 9-1.
The loss ends the Falcons season at 5-16, and the Falcons say goodbye to seven seniors. The win advances Eagle Grove to the Class 3A Region 4 semi-final where they will host Southeast Valley on Saturday.
