Kierra Jungers and Kinzee Hinders combined for 28 points leading Newell-Fonda to a 48-38 win over Sioux Central Friday night in Sioux Rapids. The Mustang defense played a large part in the win forcing numerous turnovers. The Rebels were led in scoring by Avery Wilson’s 15, Morgan Christian had 11, and Bradi Krager scored ten points. The Rebels fall to 3-1 and will play again next Tuesday at Alta-Aurelia. The Mustangs are now 2-0 and will play next Tuesday at Pocahontas.
The Mustang boys won 63-58. Mason Hoberman drained five 3-pointers and scored a team high 18 points. Jacksyn Hogrefe chipped in with 16 as the Mustangs improve to 1-2 on the year. The Rebels, who fall to 0-2, were led by Owen Mills’ game high 29 points.
