The Newell-Fonda baseball team beat Boyer Valley Saturday afternoon 3-0 advancing them into the district semi-finals where they will face Remsen-St. Mary’s for the 2nd time this season. The Mustangs (15-10) will play the Hawks Tuesday night in Remsen at 7pm. Remsen St. Mary’s (20-4) beat the Mustangs back on May 15th by a score of 6-5.
In Saturday’s district opener Max Carlson and Brooks Bellcock combined a four-hitter. Ty Tauber put the Mustangs on the board with an RBI single in the 3rd and Brady Babel delivered a two-out 2-run single in the bottom of the sixth inning to round out the Mustangs scoring.
