Storm Lake Softball Wins Second in a Row to Start Season

The Storm Lake softball team played their home opener tonight (Fri) and routed OA-BCIG 10-0 in five innings.

Kennadie Miller led off the 2nd inning with a homerun over the right field fence, and Avery DeHaan hit an inside-the-park round tripper an inning later. Miller drove in two runs on the night, while DeHaan knocked in three. Taylor Ripke had a pair of RBI doubles, including a game-ender that capped off a four-run 5th.

Storm Lake racked up 14 hits collectively. DeHaan picked up her second win in the circle throwing a one-hitter with no walks and seven strikeouts. The Falcons are now 0-3.

The 2-0 Tornadoes next game is Tuesday, May 28th at Webster City. OA-BCIG plays that night at Ridge View.
