The Storm Lake softball team picked up a 7-2 win tonight (Fri) at MOC-Floyd Valley.
The Tornadoes got on the board quickly with a two-run 1st inning as Avery DeHaan singled with one out, and then scored from 1st when Maddy Raveling reached on a throwing error. Later in the inning, Hailey Anderson knocked in a run with an RBI single.
The 2-0 score remained the same until the 5th when Raveling hit a sacrifice fly RBI to score Mackenzie Harder. Ten batters came to the plate in a four-run 7th which included an RBI double by Kennadie Miller. Hailey Anderson drove in her second run of the game with a squeeze bunt, Miller scored on an error, and DeHaan delivered an RBI single.
Storm Lake collected 14 hits. Harder had four hits, three on bunts. Lillie Hoffman and DeHaan each had three hits, and Anderson had two. DeHaan shut the Lady Dutch out until the 7th inning, throwing a four-hitter with a pair of strikeouts.

Storm Lake improves to 18-3, dropping MOC-Floyd Valley to 14-7.
The Tornadoes next play at home this coming Tuesday, July 2nd against #7 in 2A West Monona.
