The Sioux Central basketball teams defeated Alta Aurelia for the second time this season, beginning with a 74-62 win in the girls’ game.
The Rebel girls never trailed, as they scored 27 1st quarter points, and led by as many as 20 midway through the 2nd quarter. Alta Aurelia scored 11 straight points late in the 2nd quarter to help them get within 48-37 at halftime. The Warriors got within seven twice in the 2nd half, but Avery Wilson scored 12 of her 31 points in the 4th quarter to help Sioux Central secure the win.
Caitlin Wildeman added 16 for the Rebels, and Nora Christian provided 11 points. Sioux Central hit ten threes, including eight in the 1st half.
Nora Peterson powered Alta Aurelia with 30 points, and Hayden Berkland had 11.
The Sioux Central girls are now 11-5, and 4-3 in the Twin Lakes Conference. Alta Aurelia goes to 7-10, 3-5.

The Sioux Central boys jumped out to a 17-0 lead en route to a 69-36 win.
The Rebels took a 36-12 lead into halftime, and Alta Aurelia got no closer than 14 in the 2nd half.
Four Sioux Central players scored in double figures including Owen Mills with 19 points, Koen Glover had 14, Boden Bright 13, and Sawyer Hollesen added 12.
Camden Reinert had 8 points for the Warriors.
The Sioux Central boys are now 9-5, 4-4, while Alta Aurelia falls to 4-11, 1-7.

The Alta Aurelia girls on Thursday visit LeMars Gehlen, and the Alta Aurelia boys Thursday play at West Sioux. The Warrior teams Friday host Manson Northwest Webster.
