Sibley-Ocheyedan’s Dominant Defense vs Ridge View Help Advances the Girls to the 2A Region Championship

The Sibley-Ocheyedan Generals dominated defensively to advance in the Girls 2A Region Semifinal againstthe Ridge View Raptors.

The firstquarter was close with the Generals leading by four at the end of one. The Generals would open up the second quarter scoring the first 14 points and holding the Raptors to six, which were all scored in the final 90 seconds.

The third quarter was controlled by Sibley-Ocheyedan as they outscored Ridge View 26-4 to lead 56-20. Another 15 points in the fourth quarter would propel the Generals with a 71-27 victory.

Sibley-Ocheyedan had four players in double figures. Leading scorer Madison Brouwer charged with 20 points, Bria Wasmund added 17 and was really active defensively setting the tone for the Rebels. Other players in double figures included Olivia Hensch (12) and Marissa Ackerman (10).

For Ridge View, they were led by Madison Stowater’s eight (8)points.

The Raptors conclude the season 12-10, while Sibley-Ocheyedan improves to 20-3 advancing to the Championship game, where they will face Sioux Central on Wednesday at 7pm from Spirit Lake High School.
