The 10th ranked in Class 2A Ridge View volleyball team won in straight sets Thursday over West Monona in Onawa.
The Raptors trailed for nearly all of the opening set, including 20-15, but rallied to win it 25-23.
Ridge View took the lead for good in the second set when they went up 11-10, and wound up with a 25-19 victory.
Ridge View scored the first four points in the third set, but West Monona came back to take the lead, which got as high as four points. The Raptors regained the lead at 20-19, and there were two more lead changes and three ties down the stretch. A kill by Sydney Blackmore put the Raptors up 23-22, and after they got the next point as well, a kill by Rowan Jensen finished off a 25-22 set win, and the match in three straight.
Ridge View’s had a kill efficiency of .214. Blackmore delivered 16 kills, Jensen had nine, Madison Stowater had eight, and Taya Phillips registered seven.
Ridge View goes to 19-4 overall, and 6-0 in the Western Valley Conference, dropping the Spartans to 12-9, 5-2.
Ridge View will be hosting a pool in the conference tournament, which gets started this Saturday.
