#5 in 2A Audubon defeated Ridge View 6-0 tonight (Fri) in a softball region semifinal.
The Wheelers scored a run in the 1st, and then five in the 3rd. After two runs had already scored in the 3rd, Addie Hocker hit a homerun with the bases loaded, but Hocker was called out for failing to touch first base, which made it a three-run homer and a 6-0 lead.
The Raptors had chances, as they left two runners in the 1st, 3rd, and 4th innings. Emma Mentzer and Delainey Hansen had Ridge View’s only hits. Winning pitcher Riley Miller struck out five. Raptors pitcher Tatum Shepherd struck out six, as Ridge View concludes at 19-12.
Audubon (26-4) will host MVAO-COU in a region final Monday night.
