Ridge View Boys Remain Undefeated; Sioux Central Girls Win

The Sioux Central girls started Tuesday’s basketball doubleheader in Sioux Rapids with a 70-37 win over Ridge View.

Sioux Central never trailed in the game. The score was tied twice late in the opening quarter. Sioux Central led 16-14 after eight minutes, and a 9-0 run to end the 2nd quarter gave them a 33-18 lead at halftime, and they opened up the lead to 19 going to the 4th.

Three Rebels scored in double figures including Avery Wilson with 20, followed by Sage Weber’s 17, and Caitlin Wildeman had 12. Claire Wandry topped the Raptors with 12 points, and Chloe Murphy had 11.

Sioux Central is now 7-3, while Ridge View goes to 2-7. Sioux Central coach Kasey Krager talked afterward…

The Ridge View boys pulled away late to keep their perfect record intact with a 69-58 win over Sioux Central.

The Raptors were never behind on the scoreboard, but were challenged most of the way. Ridge View was up 20-17 after the 1st quarter, and took a 30-27 lead at the half. Ridge View built a 12 point lead early in the 3rd quarter. Sioux Central got within three late in the 3rd, but Kellen Jensen bounced in a three to help the Raptors take a 52-44 lead going to the 4th. The Rebels scored the first four points of the 4th to get back within four, but that’s as close as they got. Another three by Jensen put the score at 62-50 with just over three minutes left, and Ridge View maintained a double-digit lead the rest of the way.

Jensen led all scorers with 26 points, and Adam Stephan had 13 for Ridge View. Three Rebels hit double-figures including Koen Glover with 20, Jack Christian had 14, and Owen Mills had 13. Ridge View now sits at 9-0, and Sioux Central is 5-3.

The Ridge View teams play Friday at Westwood.
