The 3rd ranked in 1A Newell Fonda girls started tonight’s (Fri) Senior Night basketball doubleheader with a 70-29 win over Alta Aurelia.
Alta Aurelia led by three early on, but the Mustangs took the lead for good at 9-6, went on a 10-0 run, and were up 19-11 after the 1st quarter. Newell Fonda took a 41-24 advantage into halftime.
Kinzee Hinders topped the Mustangs with 27 points, and Ellie Sievers added 17 off the bench. Nora Peterson 23 for the Warriors. Newell Fonda finishes undefeated in the Twin Lakes Conference, improving to 15-3 overall. Alta Aurelia goes to 8-13.

Jacksyn Hogrefe ripped the net for 25 points, all in the 1st half, while Guyson Lyman chipped in 19. Sam Sennert and Gabe Olsen each had 6 for Alta Aurelia. Newell Fonda wraps up an outright, unblemished Twin Lakes Conference title, and are 13-5 overall. The Warriors drop to 4-15.
