The Ridge View boys basketball team defeated Newell Fonda 75-60 tonight (Mon) in Holstein.
The lead changed hands five times early on. Ridge View took the lead for good at 13-11, and a 6-0 run at the end of the 1st quarter had the Raptors up 22-14. A 13-1 stretch helped Ridge View to their biggest 1st half lead of 14 points, and they led at halftime 43-34. The Mustangs got within five points twice in the 3rd, but Ridge View ended the 3rd quarter with a 56-47 advantage. Newell Fonda got no closer than eight the rest of the way.
Four Ridge View players scored in double figures including Kellen Jensen with 19, Carter Todd 18, and Drew Burk and Zach Kolpin added 11. Jacksyn Hogrefe scored 26 for Newell Fonda, followed by Max Carlson with 11. Ridge View improves to 19-1, and Newell Fonda is now 13-6.
The #3 in 1A Newell Fonda girls exploded for 55 points in the 1st half on their way to a 63-27 win over Ridge View.
The Mustangs scored 16 consecutive points to start the game, led 29-6 at halftime, and ended the 1st half on a 19-0 run to take a 55-14 lead at halftime.
Newell Fonda featured a balanced attack as Kinzee Hinders scored 12 points, and Jocee Walsh and Ellie Sievers each had 11. Chloe Murphy, Mya Henningson, and Zoey Aschinger all had 5 points for the Raptors. Newell Fonda now sits at 16-3, while Ridge View goes to 7-14.
