The East Sac County girls never trailed in their 52-45 win over Alta Aurelia tonight (Fri) in Sac City.
The Raiders built a 13 point lead early on and led 19-8 after the 1st quarter. Alta Aurelia got within 23-20, but East Sac scored 11 straight points and led 34-22 at halftime. The Raiders lead got as large as 43-22. The Warriors pulled within 45-32 going to the 4th quarter. East Sac got the lead up to 16, but the Warriors went on an 11-0 run to get within 50-45 with 2:27 left, but turnovers plagued the Warriors down the stretch and East Sac held on for the win.
Makenna Steiger hit four threes and had 17 points for East Sac. Addisen Ehler also had 17, and Sarah Bontrager had 12. Kendall Quirk became the Raiders career rebounding leader, as East Sac is now 7-8, and 3-4 in the Twin Lakes Conference. Nora Peterson led the Warriors with 19, and Peyton Kies had 10, as Alta Aurelia goes to 7-9, 4-3.

The East Sac boys also didn’t trail, and they buried 16 threes in their 70-49 win over Alta Aurelia.
The Raiders jumped out to a 17-0 lead, and were up 19-5 after the 1st quarter. The lead reached 26 in the 1st half, and the score was 37-20 at halftime, and got as high as 30 points at the end of the 3rd.
Sam Julin knocked down five threes and had 18 points for the Raiders, and Ashler Lawler had 14. East Sac is now 7-6, 4-3 TLC. Angus Miller led Alta Aurelia with 10 as they are now 4-10, 1-6.
