Falcons use 19-point second half to rally past Raptors for district win

In a tale of two halves the OABCIG Falcons rallied with a 19-point second half to defeat the Ridge View Raptors 19-15.

The first half saw a fast-moving game as the Raptors would dominate the time of possession battle. After the Raptors punted on their first possession, the Falcons would drive down to the Raptor 40 before Lucas Heilman would come up with a Raptor sack. The Raptors would use that momentum to go on a 10-play, 60-yard drive capped off by a Raif Jensen 5-yard touchdown run. The Raptors would lead 7-0 with 1:58 to go in the first. After the teams traded punts, the Raptors would again go on a long drive. The drive would ultimately end on downs at the Falcons 6. However, the Raptors would drive 52 yards in 7 minutes and 53 seconds. The game would go to the half with the Raptors leading 7-0.

The Falcons would open the second half with a 9-play, 65-yard drive capped off with an 18-yard touchdown reception by Myles Beck. After a blocked extra point the game stood 7-6 Raptors. The teams would exchange drives ending in a punt and downs, a Jaxx DeJean interception would set up a Falcon drive. The Falcons would capitalize on the turnover with a three-play, 56-yard drive capped off by a 54-yard run by Kelton Ladwig. After a failed two-point conversion try the Falcons would lead 12-7 in the third. The teams would trade drives that would end in turnover on downs. The Raptors would retake the lead when Raif Jensen ran in his second touchdown, this time a 5-yard run. The Raptors would hold a 15-12 lead after a two-point conversion try that was successful. The Falcons would take the lead for good with 1:40 to go when Jaxx DeJean ran it in from five yards out, as the Falcons would win 19-15.
