The visiting Council Bluffs-Thomas Jefferson football team picked up their first win of the season defeating Storm Lake 42-34 Friday night at Storm Lake.
The Tornadoes led 20-16 at the half but CBTJ scored a pair of 3rd quarter touchdowns to take a 30-20 lead into the 4th quarter.
CBTJ had 222 yards rushing and finished with 414 total yards. Storm Lake had 323 yards of total offense with quarterback Charlie Dvergsten going 23-of-40 for 263 yards and two touchdowns. He was ran the ball eight times for 27 yards and scored on a one yard sneak.
David William had nine receptions for 111 yards and a touchdown and Rylan Richardson had six catches for 92 yards and a score and he also had a six yard touchdown run.
The result of the game leaves both teams 1-2 on the year. CBTJ will play Councel Bluffs-Lincoln next Friday and the Tornadoes will play at Perry next Friday at 7pm.
