Sandra J. Wallerstedt. age 88, of Odebolt, Iowa, died Thursday, May 28, 2026, at Avera Sister James Care Center in Yankton, South Dakota.
No local services will be held. Arrangements are under the direction of the Wintz & Ray Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Yankton, South Dakota.
Sandra J. Wallerstedt was born July 5, 1937, in Battle Creek, Iowa, to Russell and Jesse (Ellwanger) Chisholm. She grew up in Sac City, Iowa and graduated from Sac City High School. She married Tommy Wallerstedt on November 9, 1957 and together owned and operated Indian Lanes Bowling Alley in Sac City. They moved to Storm Lake, Iowa in 1987 and Sandra worked as a waitress at Lakeshore Café for a few years. She then started driving the bus for the Storm Lake School District which she continued for 33 years, until her retirement. She was a feisty, strong-willed, family-oriented woman. She enjoyed camping but mostly enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She loved her family and was a very devoted wife to Tommy.
Survivors include her two children: Scott (Judy) Wallerstedt of Tyler, Texas and Toni (Mike) Weber of Yankton, South Dakota; four grandchildren: Bekka (Nathan) Robey, Justine (Devon) Pierce, Taylor Weber, and Abbygale Weber; and three great grandchildren: Remy Pierce, Ridge Pierce and Everett Robey.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Tommy; and brother Richard Chisholm.
