An area farmer was re-elected as president of the Iowa Farm Bureau Federation as part of the IFBF’s annual meeting in Des Moines this week.
Iowa Farm Bureau delegates re-elected Brent Johnson of Calhoun County to a new two-year term as organization president. Johnson was first elected Iowa Farm Bureau president two years ago. He farms in Manson, growing corn and soybeans. Johnson also serves as chairman of the board of FBL Financial Group and Farm Bureau Life Companies. He is also a member of the American Farm Bureau Federation board of directors.
According to a news release, Farm Bureau members engaged in several educational breakout sessions during the two-day meeting, receiving valuable insight into economic factors shaping agricultural markets and updates on national policy.
