Awardees must also actively serve as leaders in the Iowa agriculture community.

The nominations will be reviewed, and the winners will be selected by an appointed committee representing conservation and agricultural groups. The winners will be recognized during an awards ceremony on August 16th at the Iowa State Fair.

The Iowa Farm Environmental Leader Awards began in 2012. Since then, a total of 738 farm families have been recognized.
