King’s Pointe Recognized at Iowa Tourism Awards

King’s Pointe Waterpark Resort was named the Outstanding Lodging Property in Iowa during the Iowa Tourism Awards. The Storm Lake Resort won in the metro category, which includes all Iowa communities over 10,000 in population.

King’s Pointe General Manager Amy Von Bank, along with Storm Lake Mayor Mike Porsch accepted the award. Von Bank spoke on the uniqueness of the facility, saying, “We are a community-owened resort, and we’re very blessed to have had the forward-thinking of Storm Lake to build this.”

The award nomination cited King’s Pointe for its role in establishing the new Storm Lake celebration, Kid’s Fest, in 2022. The resort was also praised for its efforts to grow tourism in the state, its originality and creativity in serving travelers, and innovation in developing new tourism markets.
