An Alta man was arrested for multiple offenses, including a felony burglary charge, following an incident over the weekend.
According to the Storm Lake Police Department, officers were called to a residence in the 700 block of Otsego Street at around 1am Saturday. Upon arrival, police met with a victim who alleged that a man identified as 32-year-old John Calandros of Alta forcefully entered the residence without permission, pushed the victim, and knocked the victim down. The victim attempted to call 911 for help, at which time Calandros took the victim’s phone to prevent the victim from making the call.
Calandros was located on scene and taken into custody without incident. He was charged with 2nd Degree Burglary, a class C felony…and Domestic Abuse Assault and Obstruction of Emergency Communications, a simple misdemeanor. Calandros was booked into the Buena Vista County Jail and held without bond.
